Who IS The Rebel Mama?

You’ve got to be semi-crunchy when your name’s Summer and you grow up in Alaska. I have 2 munchkins with another one on the way and a high-maintenance, younger, workaholic husband to attend to. I was a single mom for 5 years before I found myself remarried with a baby on the way, when my husband and I decided that I would be a stay at home mom.  If you know me, you know that this is something to roll around on the floor laughing about.  I never thought I’d be here but holy crow, I’ve never been busier or more exhausted in my entire life, (all 20-something years).  I take back every negative thing I ever said about stay-at-home-moms having all the time in the world.

The Rebel Crunch Mama

Yeah, I’m only “crunchy as I wanna be”. My doctors think I’m a hippie and my friends call me “crunchy” but here’s the truth: I believe in all-natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, co-sleeping (unless or until baby is up all night wanting to play or nurse), babywearing (except when baby is sleeping and it’s easier to use my Baby Jogger City Select with the car seat attachment), organic baby food-making, organic clothing wearing (but not ALL the time. Not really even half of the time, just when it’s on sale), 7th Generation cleaning products, organic food-eating (with the exception of the abundance of processed junk-foods that you’ll find in my pantry due to the ravenous Keebler-addicted husband and 9 year old), & all-natural and organic skin care and make-up (Burt’s Bees and Origins are my faves).

I ALSO believe that vaccinations are all-important (it’s not worth arguing with me on this because I’m super passionate about it and I really don’t want to offend anyone), strollers are God’s gift to busy moms, junk food is the easiest thing to pack a 9 year old’s lunch box with, buying cheap shampoo and skin care for my husband is a great way to save money (he doesn’t give a crap anyways), Auburn University football is LIFE, Mini-vans (with lower emissions) are necessary when you have more than 2 kids, leather furniture is easiest to clean, heat-styling hair into straight submission equals a happy mommy, and no one method of sleeping or parenting is good for any family.

I’m a student of life and a philosopher of the “Me Method”. Ask me about it and I’ll be happy to share.

Rebel Crunch Mama is “Crunchy as she WANTS to be”, and you can be too.

I think I love you. Not in a creepy, internet stalker kind of way, but more in a I wish I could be as funny as she is without having to try kind of way.
